Live Music – Jakey Graupner

A one man musical maelstrom, a multi-instrumentalist maestro, a mega-talented mellifluous marvel of monolithic proportions. These are just some of the phrases that have never been used to describe Jakey Graupner before. Not because they aren’t true, but because phrases like that are just too cumbersome and unwieldy to use in everyday discourse. Jakey Graupner is an exceptionally talented multi-instrumentalist and singer who regularly plays guitar, banjo or mandolin in some of our favourite bands including the brilliant Cat Amongst The Pigeons. A musical genius pitched somewhere between Beethoven and Bill Bailey, he played an impromptu set for us last summer and it was one of the most fun evenings we have ever had. With an incredible breadth of musical knowledge and versatility you can expect singalong covers ranging from Van Halen to Van Morrison, from the Beatles to the Bangles, from the Proclaimers to the Pretenders and from R.E.M. to REO Speedwagon. In short, he can basically play anything and you will love it! Music starts around 8pm, make sure you’re there!
