Sally Supper Club

Many years back we ran a regular Tuesday night event called “Ham from Home”. The idea behind this was for people to bring in homemade or homegrown food to share out with everyone in the pub. For anyone that didn’t have time to cook anything then they could share in the spoils after a small donation to charity. Well, with the cost-of-living crisis making it tough for people to be able to afford a meal out with friends at a pub, we thought it might be an appropriate time to breathe new life into an old event. Instead of hosting on a Tuesday night however this will be on the second Saturday of every month and instead of calling it “Ham from Home” we’re going with something a bit more self-explanatory (hopefully!) – The Sally Supper Club. You can cook and bring in anything you fancy; curry and rice, tartiflette, quiche – whatever floats your boat. Every couple of months we’ll have cooking competitions to test your culinary prowess too. If you don’t have time to prepare anything, bring a cash donation (minimum of £4) to put into the pot and then help yourself. All the donations at the end of the night will go to the food charity FareShare which works to ensure surplus food from the food industry is redistributed to frontline charities and community groups. Supper Club starts from 6pm.
